Thanks to the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, responsible access to most land and inland waters in Scotland is permitted for recreational purposes.
The Scottish Marine Wildlife Watching Code offers advice for all those who want to watch marine wildlife responsibly around Scotland - whether they are on the shore or at sea. It's not a law or regulation but its over-riding purpose is to raise awareness and offer practical guidance to help protect vulnerable wildlife.
